The idea for State Pest began just months into the career of a young technician who entered the industry during a pivotal era. As seasoned veterans began leaving large corporate firms to make their own mark, a vision took shape: a company that combined the "big-box" technical knowledge with the personalized, high-standard care of a local specialist.
For years, that vision was fueled by a dedicated mission to build a "library of solutions." By seeking out every possible pest challenge and learning from every walk of life in the industry, State Pest Solutions was developed to be different. Our blueprint was simple but radical: Provide the highest quality service, keep it affordable for families and small businesses, and treat every client as if they are our only client.
The Man Behind the Mission: Rodolfo "Rudy" Carpenter
For Rodolfo Carpenter—known to his clients and friends as Rudy—pest control has always been about more than just treatments; it’s about problem-solving.
Rudy’s journey began at a national firm covering Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He never turned down a challenge, intentionally seeking out the largest, most complex accounts to gain maximum exposure to every type of pest pressure. But he knew that to be the best, he had to understand the "Green" side of the industry.
He transitioned to an eco-friendly firm where his philosophy shifted forever. In an environment where traditional pesticides were limited, Rudy learned that resolution relies on the inspection, not the chemical. He mastered the study of natural habitats, reproductive cycles, and the environmental conditions that allow pests to thrive. This era taught him the most important lesson of his career: Quality over quantity is the only way to provide true service.
A Promise Kept
Rudy eventually returned to his roots, quickly rising to manage a team of ten technicians and overseeing the largest service footprint in his region. He spent those years learning the intricacies of management from the best in the business, preparing for the final step of his journey.
When the corporate landscape became uncertain, Rudy saw it as the ultimate signal. After months of planning and deep conversations with fellow industry leaders about the future of pest control, State Pest Solutions was officially born on May 23, 2024.
